A number of people predicted this when we fought against the light rail.

Also the police sure f*ck up things when crime happens along the light rail line. The article says the light rail line was closed for 6 hours after this crime.

This murder occurred at just before 2 a.m. and the cops shut down the light rail till 8 a.m.

Sadly the cops love turning incidents like this into jobs programs for themselves.

Stabbing near 19th Ave. light-rail station in Phoenix leaves 1 dead, 1 critically injured

One man died and another was critically injured from an early-morning stabbing near the 19th Avenue and Camelback Road light-rail station.

The stabbings came during an argument shortly before 1:45 a.m. in a dirt lot near the station, according to Officer James Holmes, a Phoenix police spokesman.

One man was pronounced dead in the lot, Holmes said in a statement. The injured man, 22, was found lying on the northbound light-rail tracks, Holmes said.

Witnesses were interviewed, and one person was detained as an investigative lead, Holmes said.

Light-rail traffic to the station was closed or restricted for hours but reopened about 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Police asked that anyone who may have been in the area of 1855 W. Camelback Road at the time of the incident, or anyone with information about it, call the department's Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-W-I-T-N-E-S-S.
